With a reported 5,000 jobs lost in Britain due to the collapse of Lehman Brothers on Sept. 16, Andrew Lloyd Webber has announced that he is offering free theatre tickets to bankers who are affected by "the current financial meltdown."
In a press statement Lloyd Webber said, "Both The Sound of Music and Joseph are feel good shows and I thought that free tickets might offer some respite, albeit for a couple of hours, for some of those people who have sadly lost their jobs in the current economic upheaval. All you have to do is present your P45 as proof at the box office and two free tickets are yours."
The tickets are only available for Monday-Thursday performances; all claims must be made in person at the appropriate box office, and are subject to availability.
