Champlin Stars in NYMF's Love Jerry Beginning Sept. 18

By Adam Hetrick
18 Sep 2008

The New York Musical Theatre Festival production of Love Jerry, the new musical penned by Megan Gogerty, begins performances at the Barrow Group Theatre Sept. 18.

Sweeney Todd's Donna Lynne Champlin stars in the production, which also features J.T. Arbogast, Jonas Cohen (Maccabeat!), Harris Doran (The Cousins Grimm), Annalyse McCoy and Katrina Yaukey (Sweeney Todd).

Running through Sept. 27, Love Jerry centers on the relationship between two adult brothers and a family grappling with the long-term effects of child abuse. Hilary Adams directs.

"Jerry is likeable and shy; his brother Mike is a macho family man. When Jerry is accused of sexually abusing his young nephew, the brothers must reconcile their love for each other with the grim circumstances that force them apart," according to Festival notes.

Love Jerry features musical direction by Marcus Baker, scenic design by Lara Fabian and costume design by Elizabeth Dellario.

Tickets for all NYMF productions are available by visiting NYMF.
