The 8 PM event, according to press notes, focuses on "the fresh approach that composers have recently introduced to Broadway, attracting audiences through a new range of media, from YouTube to MTV."
The panel comprises Tony-winning Spring Awakening composer Duncan Sheik, Tony-winning In the Heights creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, "Hairspray" film director Adam Shankman, Tony-winning Legally Blonde director-choreographer Jerry Mitchell and original Rent star Anthony Rapp.
Both Sheik and Rapp are scheduled to perform.
An exclusive afterparty at The Russian Team Room will follow at 9:30 PM. The evening is created by The Notables, Carnegie Hall's membership program for music enthusiasts in their twenties and thirties.
The event is free for Notables members. Tickets for non-members, priced $75, are available by calling (212) 903-9734 or by emailing notables@carnegiehall.org.
