Tony Award winner Michele Pawk, who will be seen in Craig Lucas' Prayer For My Enemy beginning in November at Playwrights Horizons, will make her New York directorial debut with Carapace Isle.
Presented by Manhattan Repertory Theatre, Jon Courie's world premiere will play a limited four-week engagement at the Off-Broadway venue beginning Nov. 8. Performances will continue through Dec. 5.
The cast comprises Athena Masci, Rachel Charlop-Powers, Grace Savage, Jim Speak and Wanda O'Connell.
Carapace Isle, according to press notes, is a "comedy set in a small town on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. In a moment of crisis, Ashley (Athena Masci) returns to her parents' home, seeking support and comfort. Instead, she's hit broadside with a dose of Southern-fried family dysfunction."
Pawk won the Best Featured Actress Tony for her work in Hollywood Arms. Her credits include Broadway's Hairspray, Mamma Mia!, Crazy For You, Cabaret and Off-Broadway’s The Paris Letter.
