In a previous statement Morgan, who also penned the film's screenplay, said, "I've been so fortunate with Frost/Nixon, working with two world-class directors in theatre and film and watching two lead actors at the top of their games. Now, having the film premiere at my hometown just completes a thrilling, fairy-tale ride for me."
Producers include Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.
The film, which is rated R and is 122 minutes long, will arrive in select U.S. theatres Dec. 5.
"Frost/Nixon," according to press notes, "not only re-creates the on-air [David Frost-Richard Nixon] interview, but the weeks of around-the-world, behind-the-scenes maneuvering between the two men and their camps as negotiations were struck, deals were made and secrets revealed...all leading to the moment when they would sit facing one another in the court of public opinion."
Frank Langella won a Tony Award for his performance as Nixon in the Broadway production. Langella is currently back on Broadway in the Roundabout's revival of A Man for All Seasons.
