LAST CHANCE: Legally Blonde, First Breeze, Tempest, Two Rooms and Outside Inn

By Adam Hetrick
14 Oct 2008

Broadway loses some of its pink-clad girl power this week, while Off-Broadway bids farewell to two Tony Award winners, a murder mystery and a timely revival.

What follows is Playbill.com's weekly "Last Chance" reminder to catch Broadway and Off-Broadway productions before they close.

Concluding Oct. 19

  • Legally Blonde (Broadway at the Palace Theatre). Based on the 2001 MGM movie of the same name, Legally Blonde currently stars Bailey Hanks as determined valley girl Elle Woods, who heads to Harvard Law to nab the man of her dreams and a law degree while she's at it. Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell directs the musical featuring a score by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin and a book by Heather Hach. For tickets, visit LegallyBlondetheMusical.

  • The First Breeze of Summer (Off-Broadway at the Signature Theatre). Tony Award-winning actress Leslie Uggams and Yaya DaCosta star in the extended Off-Broadway revival of Leslie Lee's work about three generations of a family who collide during a sweltering weekend in June. For tickets, visit SignatureTheatre.

  • The Tempest (Off-Broadway at Classic Stage Company). The extended Off-Broadway engagement of Shakespeare's classic stars Tony winner Mandy Patinkin as Prospero, the master of a magical isle where shipwrecks, romance and mystery abound. For tickets, visit ClassicStage.

  • Two Rooms (Off-Broadway at the Lion Theatre). Adinah Alexander, Angela Christian, Patrick Boll and Michael Laurence appear in the revival of Lee Blessing's timely drama about a man held hostage in the Middle East and his American wife who is attempting to reconnect with him by any means possible. For tickets, visit TicketCentral.

  • Outside Inn (Off-Broadway at 59E59 Theaters). Andreas Jungwirth penned the murder mystery where the lives of a German civic engineer, his mistress and the spouses they abandon are forever changed. For tickets, visit TicketCentral.
