Wicked Will Celebrate Fifth Anniversary with Month of Events

To celebrate its fifth anniversary at Broadway's Gershwin Theatre, the international hit musical Wicked will offer a host of events in Manhattan in October.

Live at Lincoln with Gregory Maguire
Oct. 23 at 5 PM
"Wicked" author Gregory Maguire will discuss his latest novel, "A Lion Among Men" — the third in the "Wicked" series — with Bill Goldstein from WNBC-TV/"Today in New York." The free event will also feature a live performances from members of the Broadway Wicked cast (Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle at 1972 Broadway at 66th Street).
92nd Street Y Tribeca Presents: Behind the Blockbuster
Oct. 26 at 7 PM
A conversation between "Wicked" author Gregory Maguire and Wicked producer David Stone. The evening will also include a performance by Wicked cast members. (92nd Street Y Tribeca, 200 Hudson Street, just south of Canal Street).

The Museum of the City of New York will host a discussion dedicated to the creation of Wicked . Time Out critic David Cote will moderate a panel that features composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz, book writer Winnie Holzman and producer Marc Platt (The Museum of the City of New York, 1220 5th Ave. at 103rd St.)

Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz will appear in conversation with Carol de Giere, author of "Defying Gravity: The Creative Career of Stephen Schwartz from Godspell to Wicked " (Barnes & Noble at Lincoln Triangle, 1972 Broadway at 66th Street).
The Empire State Building will also shine green Oct. 27 from dusk-midnight, and the traditional yellow banner of Playbill Magazine will be printed green for the Oct. 30 performance.
