Tom Hewitt, who received Tony and Drama Desk nominations for his performance in The Rocky Horror Show, will join the cast of the Tony-winning revival of Kander and Ebb's Chicago in November.

Hewitt will step into the role of slick lawyer Billy Flynn beginning Nov. 3. Hewitt will succeed Tom Wopat, who plays his final performance Nov. 2 prior to kicking off the tenth national tour of Chicago Nov. 11.

Hewitt's other Broadway credits include Dracula, The Musical; The Boys from Syracuse; The Lion King; School for Scandal; and The Sisters Rosenzweig. He also appeared in the national tours of Urinetown and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and has been seen Off-Broadway in Jeffrey, Beau Jest, Richard III and Othello.

Chicago currently stars Michelle DeJean as Roxie Hart (through Nov. 2), Tony Award nominee Brenda Braxton as Velma Kelly, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Carol Woods as Matron "Mama" Morton. Charlotte d'Amboise will return to the role of merry murderess Roxie Hart Nov. 3.

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

The long-running musical will celebrate its 12th anniversary and its 5,000th performance on Broadway Nov. 14.
