Show times are Oct. 26 and 27 at 8:30 PM.
Broadway State of Mind, according to press notes, "explores the connection between the rock-oriented music that influenced Pascal during his youth and theatrical material that helped launch his career." Cabaretgoers can expect to hear Pascal's renditions of Kander and Ebb's "Maybe This Time," Jonathan Larson's "One Song, Glory" and Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind" as well as songs by Elton John, Pink Floyd and the Beatles. He will also offer tunes from his new CD with Larry Edoff, "Blinding Light."
In a statement Pascal said, "I make a connection between the type of music I grew up listening to and the musical theatre stuff that I find so appealing. The line between the two is the concept behind that show."
Adam Pascal is a Tony nominee for his portrayal of Roger in the 1996 musical Rent, a role he re-created for the film adaptation. He and original co-star Anthony Rapp will tour the country with the show in 2009. He created the role of Radames for the Disney adaptation of the Verdi opera Aida. Pascal also appeared in the Broadway production of Cabaret and has released the solo recordings "Blinding Light," "Model Prisoner" and "Civilian."
