The Phantom of the Opera Production Photos

McGillin and Phantom's Masqueraders Will Appear on "Early Show" Oct. 31

By Kenneth Jones
30 Oct 2008

Howard McGillin of Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera will be performing "The Music of the Night," in full masked-man regalia, on the Halloween airing of CBS' "The Early Show" Oct. 31.

He and cast members from the smash Harold Prince-directed production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical will appear throughout the 7 AM-9 AM Halloween broadcast.

McGillin has worn the mask of the deformed murderous musical genius (who has a soft spot for sopranos) in more than 2,200 performances of the musical. He has played the title role on Broadway more than any other performer.

Expect Phantom ensemble cast members to be decked out in their "Masquerade" costumes on the CBS Plaza, plus several other Phantom surprises.

Broadcast nationally weekday mornings on CBS, "The Early Show" can be seen in the New York/Tri-state area 7 AM-9 AM on WCBS-TV, Channel 2.

The Phantom of the Opera is in its phenomenal 21st year in New York, playing at The Majestic Theatre, 247 W. 44th Street.

The regular performance schedule for Phantom is Monday and Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 PM and Tuesday evenings at 7 PM with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2 PM. For tickets, go online at telecharge.com, or call (212) 239-6200.
