Sullivan to Direct Broadway Revival of Look Homeward, Angel

Daniel Sullivan will direct the production, which is scheduled to play a Shubert theatre to be announced in fall 2009, according to Variety.
Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Steve Traxler, the trio who produced the Tony-winning August: Osage County and the current revival of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow, will produce. No casting has been announced.
The production will mark the first Broadway revival of the play, which is based on Thomas Wolfe's 1929 novel.
The 1957 Broadway production of Look Homeward Angel ran 588 performances and nabbed a Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The piece tells of a teenager desperate to escape his loving but deeply embattled family.
Sullivan — one of New York's most prolific directors — was most recently represented on Broadway with the revivals of The Homecoming and Prelude to a Kiss. He won his Best Director of a Play Tony for his direction of Auburn's Proof.
