According to boxofficemojo.com, the new movie musical brought in $15,035,000 in the U.S. during the Oct. 31-Nov. 2 weekend, for a current total gross of $61,753,000. The worldwide gross for "High School Musical 3" is now $104,243,115.
Other top grossers of the weekend just ended include "Zack and Miri Make a Porno," "Saw V," "Changeling," "The Haunting of Molly Hartley," "Beverly Hills Chihuahua," "The Secret Life of Bees," "Max Payne," "Eagle Eye" and "Pride & Glory."
"'High School Musical 3: Senior Year,'" according to press notes, "finds high school seniors Troy and Gabriella facing the prospect of being separated from one another as they head off in different directions to college. Joined by the rest of the Wildcats, they stage an elaborate spring musical reflecting their experiences, hopes and fears about their future."
Kenny Ortega directed the film musical, which stars Zac Efron (Troy), Vanessa Hudgens (Gabriella), Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay), Lucas Grabeel (Ryan), Corbin Bleu (Chad) and Monique Coleman (Taylor), through the high-energy film.
