Cast Set for Hartford's Brand:New Festival of Plays

Pedro Pascal, Laila Robbins, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Kecia Lewis and Alvin Epstein are among the actors who will populate Harford Stage's Brand:NEW festival, which gets underway Nov. 6.

Casting is now complete for the six-day festival that will showcase the work of playwrights Quiara Hudes, Michael Elyanow, Christopher Shinn, Daniel Beatty, Regina Taylor, Elizabeth Egloff and Craig Wright.

Hana Sharif will direct Armando Riesco, Teddy Canez, Mateo Gomez and Yetta Gottesman in Quiara Hudes' Elliott, A Soldier's Fugue on Nov. 6 at 7:30 PM.

Christopher Shinn's Now or Later, under the direction of Maxwell Williams, will be presented Nov. 7 at 7:30 PM. The cast includes Ryan King, Jeff Biehl, Thomas Jay Ryan, Keith Langsdale, Laila Robbins and Stephanie Berry.

The Children, by Michael Elyanow, will be directed by Leah C. Gardiner on Nov. 8 at 10 AM. Set to perform the work are Suli, Vivienne Benesch, Allyn Burrows, Pedro Pascal and Lia Aprile. Bart Roccoburton serves as puppet consultant.

Jeremy B. Cohen directs Daniel Beatty's Breath and Imagination: The Story of Roland Hayes, featuring playwright Beatty and Kecia Lewis on Nov. 8 at 2 PM.

Regina Taylor's Rain will feature Novella Nelson, Rachel Leslie, Lynda Gravatt, Caroline Clay and Howard Overshown. Timothy Douglass directs the piece that will be presented Nov. 8 at 4:30 PM.

Wendy C. Goldberg directs Michael Shannon and Kate Arrington in Craig Wright's Mistakes Were Made Nov. 9 at 2 PM.

Michael Wilson directs the final offering, Elizabeth Egloff's The Ether Dome, Nov. 9 at 7:30 PM. The cast includes Neal Huff, Louisa Krause, James Waterston, Patrick Kerr, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Alvin Epstein, Sarah Goosmann, Rob Cunliffe and Tom Libonate.
