Ira Glass moderates the discussion about the meta-musical with a heart of gold that gave audiences a sassy insider's look at creating a Broadway musical. Armed with a blank sheet of paper, a keyboard, a turkey burger and a plethora of pop-culture and musical flop references, two writers collaborated with their best gal-pals to write an original musical in three weeks.
[title of show] began previews at the Lyceum July 5 with an official opening July 17. The production ran for 115 performances on Broadway when it closed Oct. 12.
