The LAByrinth Theater Company has announced casting for its upcoming development run of David Bar Katz's Philip Roth in Khartoum.

Launching the second season of the scaled-down productions of Public LAB (presented with The Public Theater), the production will be directed by John Gould Rubin. The limited run plays Dec. 4-21 at The Public's Shiva Theater.

The cast will comprise Amelia Campbell, Elizabeth Canavan, Alexander Chaplin, David Deblinger, Jamie Klassel, Michael Puzzo, Jenna Stern and Victor Williams.

"A marriage in the throes of sexual and financial problems is pushed to the brink in a game of Truth or Dare at a cocktail party," according to press notes. "Philip Roth in Khartoum examines the destructive power of truth and the devastating impact of bad sex, autism, Philip Roth, absinthe and genocide on husbands and wives during an intimate evening with friends."

Philip Roth in Khartoum, seen in last season's Barn Series, was developed as part of the 2007 Summer Intensive. For more on the development process, visit the show's blog at philiprothinkhartoum.blogspot.com.

The work bears the warning: "not suitable for audiences under 18: it contains nudity, profanity and raunch."

The design team includes Chris Barreca (set), Daphne Javitch (costumes), Japhy Weideman (lighting) and Elizabeth Rhodes (sound). Meredith Dixon serves as production stage manager.

LAB currently presents the remainder of its Barn Series (through Nov. 15) and will continue its dedication to new works with Live Nude Plays (Nov. 16-19).

Tickets ($10) to Philip Roth in Khartoum at The Public Theater, 425 Lafayette Street, are available (beginning Nov. 7) by calling (212) 967-7555 or online at publictheater.org. For more information visit labtheater.org.
