Sondheim and Rich Will Discuss A Life in the Theater in January 2009

Tony Award-winning musical theatre composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim, currently represented Off-Broadway with the new musical Road Show , will take part in an upcoming evening at Avery Fisher Hall.

Stephen Sondheim: A Life in the Theater , the Jan. 18, 2009, event will feature Sondheim and former New York Times theatre critic Frank Rich. Show time is 8 PM.
Sondheim and Rich, according to a press statement, "will engage in a live, unscripted conversation, reminiscing about Stephen Sondheim's career, legendary collaborations, inspirations, and rich theatrical and cinematic resumé."
Stephen Sondheim, who penned the lyrics for Gypsy and West Side Story , is the award-winning composer-lyricist of A Little Night Music, Into the Woods, Follies, Sweeney Todd, Merrily We Roll Along, Anyone Can Whistle, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Sunday in the Park with George, Assassins, Company and Passion , among others. His newest musical, Road Show , is currently in previews at the Public Theater.
