The Flea Theater has announced the cast for its upcoming world premiere of A.R. Gurney's A Light Lunch.

Flea artistic director Jim Simpson stage the work scheduled to play Dec. 12, 2008-Jan. 25, 2009, at the company's downtown Manhattan home. Opening night is slated for Dec. 19.

Havilah Brewster, Beth Hoyt, Tom Lipinski and John Russo comprise the cast of A Light Lunch, which Gurney penned specifically for The Bats, The Flea's resident company of actors.

A Light Lunch is billed as "a post-Bush cautionary tale about the price paid for legacy. When a young lawyer from Texas invites a literary agent for lunch in a New York City restaurant, more than a production is on the table," according to show notes.

The work marks the fifth collaboration between Gurney and the Flea, following Post Mortem, O Jerusalem, Mrs. Farnsworth and Screen Play.

The design team includes John McDermott (sets), Miranda Hardy (lights), Erin Murphy (costumes) and Jill BC DuBoff (sound).

Other Gurney plays include Scenes from American Life, The Dining Room, The Middle Ages, The Cocktail Hour, Love Letters, Sylvia, Far East, Ancestral Voices, Big Bill, Indian Blood, Crazy Mary and Buffalo Gal.

Tickets to A Light Lunch at The Flea Theater, 41 White Street (between Broadway & Church Streets) are available by calling (212) 352-3101. Flea Memberships are available as well through (212) 226-0051 or online at theflea.org.
