Blickenstaff, Cavenaugh, Jones, Keenan-Bolger and More Sing The Bard Nov. 17

Sonnet Sings: The Bard is the title of the Nov. 17 concert at Birdland to benefit the Sonnet Repertory Theatre.

The one-night-only event features original songs inspired by the work of William Shakespeare. Among the songwriters whose tunes will be featured are Stephen Flaherty, Jeff Bowen, Alan Menken, Henry Krieger, Bobby Lopez and Jeff Marx.

Performers are scheduled to include Heidi Blickenstaff, Matt Cavenaugh, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Henry Krieger, Rick Lyon, Kermit the Frog, Paul David Story, Paris Remillard and Kaitlin Kiyan. The Sonnet Repertory Theatre's "Little Fairies" will also reprise a scene from the company's recent production of Shakespeare's Midsummer.
