Theresa Rebeck, Judith Ivey, David Rambo and Sheila Callaghan will take part in the 2009 season at the Cherry Lane Theatre Off-Broadway.

Rebeck, a Pulitzer Prize finalist for Omnium Gatherum, has been named the playwright in residence for the 2009 season. As part of her residency Rebeck has been commissioned to pen a new work for Cherry Lane in addition to serving as supervising mentor for the 2010 Mentor Project.

The 2009 season gets underway with Mentor Project member Jakob Holder's Housebreaking, running March 24-April 4, 2009 under the direction of Daniella Topol.

In October of 2009, Cherry Lane will present Tony Award winner Judith Ivey reprising her work in David Rambo's The Lady with All the Answers. BJ Jones directs the one-woman show about the life of columnist Ann Landers that previously played the Northlight Theatre in Skokie, IL.

Cherry Lane's Discovery Series will feature Deirdre O'Connor's Jailbait under the direction of Suzanne Agins in the spring of 2009, while Blackburn winner Sheila Callaghan will offer Lascivious Something, directed by Daniella Topol in August of 2009.

Looking ahead, Cherry Lane promises a commission from playwright Charles Fuller as well as a new musical commission from Anton Dudley in the 2010-2011 season. In September 2010, Cherry Lane also intends to present Desire Caught by the Tail by Pablo Picasso, which was previously staged at the Cherry Lane in 1952.

The Cherry Lane Theatre is located in Manhattan at 38 Commerce Street, between Barrow and Bedford Streets.
