Apocalyptic Comedy boom Opens at Seattle Rep Nov. 19

The Seattle Repertory Theatre production of Peter Sinn Nachtrieb's dark comedy boom officially opens Nov. 19.

Jerry Manning directs the Seattle production, which began performances Nov. 13 and will continue through Dec. 14 in the Leo K. Theatre. Gretchen Krich, Nick Garrison and Chelsey Rives star.

Press notes for boom state, "A marine biologist calculates that the end of the world is near and posts an online personals ad, hoping to find a girl that will help him ensure the survival of the species. But when push comes to shove, saving life on earth on the first date proves to be a bit of a challenge."

The Seattle Rep design team includes set designer Jennifer Zeyl, costume designer Harmony Arnold, lighting designer Robert Aguilar and sound designer/composer Eric Chappelle.

In addition to boom, Peter Sinn Nachtrieb's plays include Hunter Gatherers, Colorado, Meaningless and The Amorphous Blob.
