Tony Winner Peters Schedules Book Signings in NY and WA; TV Appearance, Too

Two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters, whose recent TV credits include "Grey's Anatomy" and the Lifetime film "Living Proof," will promote her best-selling children's tome, "Broadway Barks," throughout the month of December.
Peters' "Broadway Barks," which features illustrations by Liz Murphy, was released in June on the Blue Apple Books label and boasts a CD featuring a lively reading of the story by Peters and a lovely song ("Kramer's Song") penned by the Tony-winning Annie Get Your Gun and Song & Dance star. The charming children's book, the tale of a down-on-his-luck, yet scrappy dog Kramer, benefits Broadway Barks, the charitable organization co-founded by Peters and good friend Mary Tyler Moore over a decade ago.
On Dec. 2 Peters will head to New York City's Lord & Taylor (424 Fifth Avenue) for a 4 PM book signing. The afternoon event is part of the store's "Benefit Bash" to support the Fund for Public Schools.
Dec. 7 will find the acclaimed singing actress at the University Village Seattle Barnes & Noble (2675 NE University Village Street) for a 2 PM reading and book signing. The Tribeca Barnes & Noble (97 Warren Street) will welcome the versatile performer Dec. 10 at 11 AM for a reading and signing.
On Dec. 13 Peters will read and sign copies of "Broadway Barks" at 2 PM at the Bookends in Ridgewood, NJ (232 E. Ridgewood Avenue). Peters will be accompanied by her dog Kramer, whose life story is the basis for "Broadway Barks."
Peters will also make an appearance on the Dec. 3 broadcast of Fox's "Good Day New York. The morning program airs in the New York metropolitan area on Channel 5; check local listings.
Bernadette Peters was last on Broadway in the acclaimed revival of Gypsy, for which she received a 2003 Tony Award nomination for her performance as Rose in the Sam Mendes-directed production. She won her two Tonys for her performances in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song & Dance and Irving Berlin's Annie Get Your Gun, and she has also starred on Broadway in Mack & Mabel, On the Town, Sunday in the Park with George, The Goodbye Girl and the original production of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods. Peters' newest live recording, "Sondheim, Etc., Etc.—Bernadette Peters Live at Carnegie Hall (The Rest of It)," is available on the Angel Records label. Masterworks Broadway has also released a "Legends of Broadway" CD celebrating her theatrical career. Peters' screen credits are numerous.
