"Carols for a Cure," White Christmas, Styne Tribute and Merrily on Playbill Radio, Dec. 9-16

In addition to round-the-clock show tunes and Broadway news at the top of each hour, Playbill Radio offers the following special programming.

The schedule for the week of Dec. 9–16 follows.

Center Stage
Dec. 9: Lynn Pinto, creator of the annual "Carols for a Cure" CD, walks us through the tenth annual edition, featuring holiday songs by the casts of 26 Broadway shows, including In the Heights, Wicked and the final cast of Rent. We'll also have the debut broadcast of an original Christmas song by Elton John with the cast of Billy Elliot.
This week's "Center Stage" debuts at 7 PM ET Tuesday, with repeats scheduled for (all times ET) 2 AM Wednesday, Dec. 10; 11 PM Wednesday, Dec. 10; 2 PM Thursday, Dec. 11; 11 AM Saturday, Dec. 13; and 4 PM Sunday, Dec. 14.

Edited versions of the "Center Stage" programs are available as podcasts.

Playbill Presents
Dec. 10: We visit the rehearsal hall to talk with the stars of the new Broadway musical Irving Berlin's White Christmas on what it took to bring the classic film to the stage.

This week's "Playbill Presents" debuts at 7 PM (ET) Wednesday, with repeats scheduled for (all times ET) 2 AM Thursday, Dec. 11; 11 PM Thursday, Dec. 11; 2 PM Friday Dec. 12; 4 PM Saturday, Dec. 13; and 11 AM Sunday, Dec. 14.

Composer Spotlight
Dec. 11: Part Two of Playbill's salute to songwriter Jule Styne. Over the next two weeks we'll play some of his greatest tunes, including hits from Funny Girl, Peter Pan, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Bells Are Ringing, plus a few you never knew he wrote!

Each week's "Composer Spotlight" show debuts at 7 PM (ET) Thursday, with repeats scheduled for (all times ET) 2 AM Friday, Dec. 12; 11 PM Friday, Dec. 12; 8 PM Sunday, Dec. 14; and 2 PM Monday, Dec. 15.

"Theater Talk" on Playbill Radio
Dec. 13: A conversation with Hairspray creators Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

Each week's "Theater Talk" show debuts at 7 PM (ET) Saturday, with repeats scheduled for (all times ET) 11 PM Monday, Dec. 15 and 2 PM Tuesday, Dec. 16.

WORLD PREMIERE: "Stephen Sondheim: The Story So Far"
Dec. 14, 7 PM ET: An intimate look at the creation of Merrily We Roll Along, featuring interviews with cast, creatives and Stephen Sondheim himself.


Playbill Radio's exclusive debut of podcasts from a special series created by Sony BMG to celebrate the newly released four-CD box set, "Stephen Sondheim: The Story So Far."
