Frank Langella in A Man for All Seasons

Roundabout Theatre Company's limited Broadway engagement of A Man for All Seasons, starring three-time Tony Award winner Frank Langella as Sir Thomas More, plays its final performance Dec. 14 at 2 PM.

This revival of Robert Bolt's classic, at the American Airlines Theatre, was directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes (Doubt).

A Man for All Seasons began previews Sept. 12 and opened Oct. 7. When it closes, it will have played 29 preview performances and 73 regular performances.

During the run, Langella was Golden Globe-nominated on Dec. 11 for his work in the film "Frost/Nixon." He already won the Best Actor Tony Award for the Broadway play, in which he starred as disgraced president Richard M. Nixon.

For A Man for All Seasons, billed as "a timeless exploration of politics, religion and power…based on the fascinating true story of English Chancellor Sir Thomas More and his moral objection to King Henry VIII's plan to leave the Catholic Church," the director got permission to edit the script, eliminating a narrator character, The Common Man.

The cast also includes Hannah Cabell (as Margaret More), Michael Esper (William Roper), Michel Gill (Duke of Norfolk), Zach Grenier (Thomas Cromwell), Dakin Matthews (Cardinal Wolsey), George Morfogen (Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop), Patrick Page (King Henry VIII), Maryann Plunkett (Alice More), Jeremy Strong (Richard Rich), Charles Borland (Jailor), Peter Bradbury (Steward), Patricia Hodges (Woman), Triney Sandoval (Thomas Chapuys) and Emily Dorsch.

The design team included Santo Loquasto (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), David Lander (lights), David Van Tieghem (original music and sound) and Tom Watson (hair and wigs).
