A benefit concert, presented by Rockers on Broadway, featuring original cast members from The Who's Tommy was seen Dec. 15 at the August Wilson Theatre.
Original cast member Donnie Kehr staged the evening with musical direction by Joe Church.
Michael Cerveris reprised his work in the title role with Marcia Mitzman (as Mrs. Walker), Jonathan Dokuchitz (Mr. Walker), Cheryl Freeman (Gypsy/Acid Queen), Anthony Barrile (Cousin Kevin), Paul Kandel (Uncle Ernie) and Sherie Rene Scott (Sally Simpson).
Other company members included original stars Alice Ripley, Norm Lewis, Christian Hoff, Donnie Kehr, Michael Arnold, Bill Buell, Maria Calabrese, Tracy Nicole Chapman, Paul Dobie, Tom Flynn, Roman Fruge, Jody Gelb, Pam Klinger, Lisa Leguillou, Lee Morgan, Timothy Warmen and national tour cast member Destan Owens as the Hawker. Billy Elliot's David Bologna played the role of young Tommy.
Des McAnuff directed the original run and penned the book with The Who member Pete Townshend, who also provided the score.
