Stage and screen star Alec Baldwin, who can currently be seen on the Emmy-winning "30 Rock," will take part in a reading of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow to benefit Road Less Traveled Productions.

The Feb. 28, 2009, benefit will be held at the Rockwell Hall Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, NY. Baldwin will be joined onstage by Brian Mysliwy and Kelly Jakiel. Scott Behrend directs the 8 PM performance. (The reading had been previously scheduled for Jan. 31, 2009).

"Speed-the-Plow focuses on two high-powered Hollywood executives, Charlie Fox and Bobby Gould, who have come up from the mailroom together," according to press notes. "Charlie brings Bobbie a surefire hit with a major star attached. Bobby seems certain to give the green light, until his beautiful new secretary gets involved."

A revival of Speed-the-Plow is currently playing Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre. The cast features Raul Esparza and Elisabeth Moss; Jeremy Piven recently departed the company abruptly due to high levels of mercury in his system. His role will be filled by Norbert Leo Butz and then William H. Macy.

Alec Baldwin was most recently on Broadway in Twentieth Century. His other Broadway credits include A Streetcar Named Desire (Tony nomination), Serious Money and Loot (Theatre World Award). Baldwin was also nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in "The Cooler" and won an Emmy for his work in "30 Rock."

The Rockwell Hall Performing Arts Center is located at 1300 Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo, NY. For tickets, priced $40 and $50 (show only) and $175 (reception and premier seating), call (716) 878-3005 or go to www.ticketguys.com.
