Estate's Ashley to Join August: Osage County Cast in February

Elizabeth Ashley, who is currently starring in Horton Foote's Dividing the Estate, has found her next theatre project.

The veteran, Tony-winning actress will join the cast of the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning August: Osage County Feb. 3, 2009. Ashley will step into the role of Mattie Fae Aiken, the part that was created on Broadway by Tony winner Rondi Reed.

Elizabeth Ashley received a Tony Award for her performance in Take Her, She's Mine. She was also Tony-nominated for her work in Barefoot in the Park and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and her other Broadway credits include Dividing the Estate, Enchanted April, Gore Vidal's The Best Man, Garden District, Agnes of God, Hide and Seek, Caesar and Cleopatra, Legend, The Skin of Our Teeth and Ring Around the Bathtub.

Directed by Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award winner Anna D. Shapiro, August: Osage County "is the explosively funny comedy-drama focusing on the Weston family following the disappearance of the family's patriarch."

August: Osage County currently stars Estelle Parsons as Violet Weston with Guy Boyd, John Cullum, Johanna Day, Scott Jaeck, Brian Kerwin, Madeleine Martin, Michael Milligan, Dee Pelletier, Molly Regan, Samantha Ross, Amy Warren and Frank Wood.

When Ashley joins the show, she will perform with Guy Boyd, Johanna Day, Kimberly Guerrero, Brian Kerwin, Madeleine Martin, Mariann Mayberry, Michael McGuire, Michael Milligan, Sally Murphy, Estelle Parsons, Troy West and Frank Wood.
