Kevin Vortmann plays American G.I. Chris, opposite Melinda Chua Smith (who starred in the Broadway, German and both national touring companies of Miss Saigon) as Vietnamese lover Kim. Katie Boren plays the role of Kim at matinee performances.
Opening is Jan. 8, 2009. Rachel Rockwell directs the musical, an international sensation, written by Alain Boublil, Claude-Michel Schoenberg and Richard Maltby Jr. The show was inspired by Madama Butterfly and is set during the fall of Saigon in 1975, and in the years that follow.
