South Florida Premiere of Frost/Nixon Begins Jan. 4

By Kenneth Jones
04 Jan 2009

Wynn Harmon is Frost, and Bruce Sabath is Nixon in the South Florida premiere of Peter Morgan's Frost/Nixon, the humor-laced drama about the famous 1977 TV interviews between the British celebrity chat-show host and the disgraced former U.S. President.

The Caldwell Theatre Company staging in Boca Raton, FL, will play to Feb. 8. Artistic director Michael Hall directs.

The opening night is Jan. 9.

The company includes Ashley Ellenburg (Evonne Goolagong et al), Daniel Gibson (Manolo Sanchez et al), Peter Haig (Swifty Lazar et al), Robert Herrle (John Birt et al), Margery Lowe (Caroline Cushing et al), Jake Molzan (Jack Brennan), Michael St. Pierre (Jim Reston) and Tom Wahl (Bob Zelnick et al).

The creative team includes Tim Bennett (scenic designer), John D. Hall (lighting designer), Alberto Arroyo (costume designer), Sean Lawson (sound designer) and Heather Dale MacKenzie (stage manager).

Morgan's play, directed by Michael Grandage, was a London and Broadway hit, and is currently a feature film directed by Ron Howard with a screenplay by Morgan. It stars its original duo, Frank Langella as Nixon and Michael Sheen as Frost.

The original Grandage production is currently on a national tour starring Stacy Keach as Nixon.
