The new Broadway national tour of the smash musical, Rent, starring original cast members Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp and Gwen Stewart, launches Jan. 6-11 at the Palace Theatre in Cleveland.

Jeffrey Seller, Kevin McCollum and Allan S. Gordon produce the Michael Greif-directed tour, which comes on the heels of the September 2008 closing of the long-running Broadway production. The 1996 musical by Tony Award winner and Pulitzer Prize winner Jonathan Larson (who penned book, music and lyrics) concerns a group of bohemian friends and lovers struggling with art, relationships and their sense of self "at the end of the millennium," in the age of AIDS.

Joining Tony nominee Pascal and Rapp, who reprise their award-winning roles as Roger and Mark, respectively, are Stewart (as the "Seasons of Love" soloist), plus Nicolette Hart as Maureen Johnson, Justin Johnston as Angel Schunard, Lexi Lawson as Mimi Marquez, Michael McElroy as Tom Collins, Jacques C. Smith as Benjamin Coffin III and Haneefah Wood as Joanne Jefferson, with Karmine Alers, Toby Blackwell, Adam Halpin, Trisha Jeffrey, Telly Leung, Caren Lyn Manuel, Jed Resnick, Andy Senor, Yuka Takara and John Watson.

Pascal, Rapp and Stewart originated their roles at New York Theatre Workshop Off-Broadway, and then on Broadway. Johnston (Angel), McElroy (Collins), and Stewart were all members of the final company of Rent, which played its last performance on Broadway Sept. 7, 2008.

Larson died of an undiagnosed heart ailment linked to Marfan Syndrome on the eve of the Off-Broadway bow of his work. He never saw the international success of his La Boheme-inspired rock musical.

Greif received 1996 Tony and Drama Desk nominations as well as the Obie Award for Rent. Marlies Yearby choreographs.

Tim Weil, the show's original music supervisor and conductor, serves as music supervisor.

Rent played 5,124 performances and 16 previews on Broadway and is the seventh longest running show in Broadway history.

Rent, the Broadway tour, will play the following cities: Buffalo, NY (Jan. 13-18); Durham, NC (Jan. 20-25); Charlotte, NC (Jan. 27-Feb. 1); Philadelphia, PA (Feb. 3-8); Newark, NJ (Feb. 10-15); Detroit (Feb. 17-22); Los Angeles (March 3-8); San Diego, CA (March 10-15); Tempe, AZ (March 17-22); Minneapolis, MN (March 24-29); Chicago (March 31-April 12); Pittsburgh (April 14-19); Rochester, NY (April 21-26); Houston (April 28-May 3); Dallas (May 5-10); Austin, TX (May 12-17); Washington, DC (May 26-31); St. Louis (June 2-7); Denver (June 9-14); Seattle, WA (June 16-21); Portland, OR (June 23-28); Tampa (July 7-12); Boston (July 14-26); Schenectady, NY (July 28-Aug 2).
