Garofalo, Ames, Cross and Borowitz Will Be Part of Sleepwalk With Me Talkbacks

By Andrew Gans
06 Jan 2009

The line-up of actors and writers who will take part in January's "Awkward 10 Minutes With Mike," the talkback series that follows select performances of Off-Broadway's Sleepwalk With Me, has been announced.

The first month of the New Year will feature Janeane Garofalo (actress, who will be seen on upcoming season of "24," former radio host on Air America) on Jan. 7, Jonathan Ames (novelist, creator of upcoming HBO series "Bored to Death") on Jan. 14, David Cross (actor/comedian from "Mr. Show with Bob and David," "Arrested Development") on Jan. 21 and Andy Borowitz (contributor to the New Yorker, writer of The Borowitz Report) on Jan. 28.

Sleepwalk With Me, the new comedy penned by and starring Mike Birbiglia, plays the Bleecker Street Theater.

About the talkback series, Birbiglia said in a statement, "It's a fun add-on to the show because thematically, Sleepwalk With Me is about telling people the things we're not supposed to talk about. It opens the whole thing up so it's not just about my stories but about everyone's stories. The only danger, of course, is that people will leave and say, 'My favorite part was when he talked to other people at the end!"

In Sleepwalk With Me, press notes state, Birbiglia "takes the audience on a hysterically funny and intensely personal journey through stories of his life and bouts with sleepwalking. As he finally confronts his fears of love, honesty and growing up, we see that some people's problems will work themselves out with a nice long walk — but not Mike's."

The production features set design by Beowulf Borwitt, lighting design by Jason Lyons and sound design by Jody Elff. Seth Barrish directs.

Producers are Eli Gonda, Ryan Scott Warren, Mark Turtletaub, Peter Saraf and Nathan Lane.

The Bleecker Street Theatre is located at 45 Bleecker Street. Tickets are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
