The cast of the current Broadway revival of West Side Story headed into the studio April 6 to record the forthcoming Sony Masterworks CD.

The new recording of the Arthur-Laurents-Leonard Bernstein-Stephen Sondheim musical will be released June 2.
The musical's librettist, Laurents, directs the new staging at the Palace Theatre, a production that features the Latino characters often speaking and singing in Spanish, courtesy of translations by Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights).
West Side Story features Matt Cavenaugh, Karen Olivo, Cody Green, George Akram and Josefina Scaglione.
