According to the Roundabout's website, White will star in the New York premiere of Theresa Rebeck's The Understudy. The production will play the Roundabout's Off-Broadway space, the Laura Pels Theatre.
A Roundabout spokesperson could not confirm any details about the production.
The Understudy, under the direction of Scott Ellis, made its world premiere at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in July 2008. White had been scheduled to star in that production, but withdrew due to scheduling conflicts and was replaced by Kristen Johnston.
Julie White won her Tony for her work in Douglas Carter Beane's The Little Dog Laughed. She has also appeared onstage in From Up Here, Bad Dates, Fiction, The Heidi Chronicles, Dinner With Friends, Barbra's Wedding, Spike Heels and The Family of Mann. Her film credits include "Transformers," "The Astronaut Farmer," "The Nanny Diaries" and "Michael Clayton." White has been seen on the small screen in "Cavemen," "Desperate Housewives," "Grace Under Fire" and "Six Feet Under."
