Balaban, Cox and Perry Debate Art in Los Angeles Starting April 15

The Los Angeles Theatre Works production of Yasmina Reza's Art, starring Bob Balaban, Brian Cox and Jeff Perry, begins performances April 15.

Peter Levin directs the production of the Tony and Olivier Award-winning comedy, which runs through April 19 and will be recorded and subsequently broadcast on L.A.T.W.'s nationally syndicated radio theatre series, "The Play's the Thing."

Brian Cox (Rock 'n' Roll), who appeared in the Broadway run of Art, is joined by Bob Balaban (Speed-the-Plow, "Waiting for Guffman") and Jeff Perry (August: Osage County, "Grey's Anatomy") as "three old friends [who] square off over the merits of a recently purchased painting. Their friendship is put to the test as the arguments quickly go from theoretical, to personal, to confrontational. With relationships hanging in the balance, the question becomes: how much is a painting worth?"

Yasmina Reza's latest play, God of Carnage, opened to rave reviews on Broadway following a sold-out London run where it earned the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. She also penned the play Life (x) 3.
