Dillinger: Public Enemy Number One features a book by Joel Gross and music and lyrics by Paul Aleman.
In this new musical, press notes state, "Jimmy Morgan, a young reporter in Depression-era Chicago, goes undercover with John Dillinger, the iconic gangster, and succumbs to his corrupting influence. Worse, Jimmy falls in love with Dillinger's girl, Polly, never realizing that it is Dillinger himself who is pulling the strings of their love triangle; all part of the gangster’s plan to use Jimmy's life as his ticket to freedom."
