The York Theatre Company's production of Knickerbocker Holiday, the final of three spring 2009 Musicals in Mufti staged concert presentations, begins performances June 26.
Directed by Michael Unger with music direction by John Bell, the weekend of concerts runs through June 28.
The cast comprises Kelli Barrett as Tina Tienhoven, Walter Charles as Tienhoven, Nick Gaswirth as Brom Broeck, Josh Grisetti as Washington Irving and Martin Vidnovic as Pieter Stuyvesant with William Parry, Ronica Reddick, Ric Stoneback, Roland Rusinek, Cyrilla Baer, Lucia Spina and Jendi Tarde. (Bobby Steggert had been announced for the role of Brom Broeck but left during rehearsals due to a family emergency.)
The musical by Maxwell Anderson and composer Kurt Weill is the 75th title in the staged-concert Off-Broadway Musicals in Mufti series.
The score includes "How Can You Tell an American?," "It Never Was You" and "September Song."
All performances will be presented at the Theatre at Saint Peter's (54th Street, just east of Lexington Ave), June 26 at 8 PM; June 27 at 2:30 & 8 PM; and June 28 at 2:30 & 7:30 PM. Audience talkbacks will follow both matinees.
