Musician Michael Croiter, who owns the recording production facility Yellow Sound Lab, has partnered with Tony-winning orchestrator Bill Sherman to launch Yellow Sound Label, which will produce recordings for talents on Broadway and beyond.
The label will officially launch Sept. 22 with the previously announced solo disc from Tony winner Alan Cumming, "I Bought a Blue Car Today."
Upcoming plans for the new label include discs from Tony winner Chita Rivera, Tony winner Karen Olivo, Christopher Jackson (The Lion King, In the Heights), songwriting/performing duo Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich ("Taylor, the Latte Boy") and Jeremiah James, a member of the all-male vocal quartet Teatro.
Yellow Sound recently signed a distribution deal with Alternative Distribution Alliance, part of Warner Bros. Music.
