Press notes for Amadeus state: "Astounded by the beauty of Mozart’s music and yet consumed by envy and insecurity in the face of the brash young man’s talent, court composer Salieri sets out to destroy the prodigy’s life and career. A towering story of diabolical greed and soul-shattering guilt, outrageous genius and glorious music."
Designing the production are Bill Clarke (scenic design), Dorothy Marshall Englis (costume design), Peter E. Sargent (lighting design), Rusty Wandall (sound design) and Henry Palkes (music supervisor).
