PHOTO CALL: Othello, with Hoffman and Ortiz, Celebrates Off-Broadway

The Public Theater revival of William Shakespeare's Othello, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Ortiz, celebrated its upcoming opening Off-Broadway at the NYU Skirball Center Sept. 20.

Peter Sellars directs the updated take on the Shakespeare tale. The production is a special presentation between the Public Theater and LAByrinth Theater Company in association with Wiener Festwochen, Vienna and Schauspielhaus Bochum. (The show officially opens Sept. 27.)

Othello features Ortiz in the title role and Hoffman as Iago. The company also includes Julian Acosta, Gaius Charles, Jessica Chastain, Liza Colon-Zayas, Saidah Arrika Ekulona and LeRoy McClain.
