Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush, who won a Tony for his performance in the recent revival of Eugene Ionesco's Exit the King, has found his latest stage project.

Variety reports that Rush will star in Sydney's Belvoir St. Theater production of Nikolai Gogol's Diary of a Madman. Neil Armfield, the artistic director of the Australian theatre company, will direct the 2010 production.

Armfield also directed Rush in Exit the King, which played the Belvoir St. Theatre before arriving on Broadway. A previous production of Madman, also starring Rush, played the Australian venue in 1989.

Geoffrey Rush won an Academy Award for his performance in "Shine" and was also Oscar-nominated for his roles in "Shakespeare in Love" and "Quills."
