"Sex and the City" writers Julie Rottenberg, Elisa Zuritsky, Cindy Chupack and Liz Tuccillo have teamed to write a new episodic stage work entitled Cedar City Falls.

Variety reports that the writers are creating an eight-episode work that will feature actors Peter Frechette, Grant Shaud and Talia Balsam under the direction of John Ruocco. Additional actors will be announced.

Rent veterans Daphne Rubin-Vega and Jesse L. Martin will join John Slattery ("Sex and the City," "Mad Men"), Talia Balsam ("Mad Men") and Grant Shaud ("Murphy Brown") as rotating narrators for the evenings that will be presented Tuesdays at 7 and 9:30 PM beginning Oct. 6 at the Cell. The final installments will be presented at Brooklyn's Galapagos space.

Cedar City Falls, according to the Cell website, "tells the story of a small peaceful town filled with hard-working, God-fearing folk who due to a series of unfortunate incidents and petty squabbles, gets plunged into full-scale civil war. It is a parable (and parody) of conflict escalation, war, activism, peace and redemption."

Box-office proceeds for Cedar City Falls will benefit various charities including Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders and the Center for Constitutional Rights.
