Barrett will once again step into the role of slick lawyer Billy Flynn beginning Oct. 5 for an eight-week engagement through Nov. 29.
He will join a cast that includes Bonnie Langford as Roxie Hart, Deidre Goodwin as Velma Kelly, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Kecia Lewis-Evans as Matron "Mama" Morton.
In November Barrett will also release his third solo recording, a Christmas CD titled "Simple Gifts" for Kritzerland Records. The recording, with arrangements by musical director Christopher Denny, features holiday standards and new tunes, including one ("A Star to Guide Me") penned by Barrett.
Brent Barrett, who recently completed a two-year stint in the title role of Phantom – the Las Vegas Spectacular, received an Olivier Award nomination for his role in the London company of Kiss Me, Kate, and his other theatrical credits include the Broadway productions of Annie Get Your Gun, Chicago, Grand Hotel, Dance a Little Closer, West Side Story and Candide. Barrett received a Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for his work in the L.A. production of Chicago and has been seen Off-Broadway in Closer Than Ever, March of the Falsettos, The Death of Von Richtofen, The Time of the Cuckoo and Portrait of Jenny. His television and film appearances include "Hercules," "Longtime Companion," "All My Children," "Another World" and "Guiding Light."
Chicago plays the Ambassador Theatre, located at 219 West 49th Street.
The long-running musical celebrated its 12th anniversary and its 5,000th performance on Broadway Nov. 14, 2008.
