Mark Hoebee, artistic director of New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse, stages the production that will run through Oct. 11. Hoebee, who also staged the musical at Paper Mill in 2007, reunites with much of the original creative team, including choreographer Denis Jones.
Anneliese van der Pol (Vanities) stars as Esther Smith, the role made famous by Judy Garland in the 1944 film, with Barrymore-winning actor Brian Hissong as John Truitt, "the boy next door."
The cast also features Drama Desk nominee Lynne Wintersteller (Closer Than Ever) as Mrs. Smith, Jacqueline Touchet as Tootie, Abigail Moorhead as Agnes, Joseph Kolinski (Titanic) as Mr. Smith, Julia Osborne as Rose Smith, J.B. Adams (Parade) as Grandpa, Zach Frank (Happy Days) as Lon, Colin Israel (Mamma Mia, Thrill Me) as Warren and Patti Mariano (42nd Street) as Katie.
The ensemble comprises Ashley Arcement, Tommy Berklund, Elliott Bradley, Monica Bradley, Alicia Charles, Dana Domenick, Tony Neidenbach, Dennis O'Bannion, Ed Romanoff, Dani Spieler, Kristin Warren, Dru Peacock Wiser, Kristin Warren, Sydney Crofton, Monica Bradley, Monica Brown, Kristina Kee and Barry Busby.
Meet Me in St. Louis has a book by Hugh Wheeler and a score by Hugh Martin and Ralph Blane. Popular songs from the stage production include "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "The Boy Next Door" and "The Trolley Song."
