Jen Dede (War of the Worlds) and Steve Vinovich (The Little Foxes) have joined the cast of the L.A. Theatre Works production of Kaufman and Hart's Once in a Lifetime, which begins performances Oct. 21.

As previously reported, Moss Hart's son, Chris Hart, will direct Edward Asner ("Mary Tyler Moore") and Jonathan Silverman (Brighton Beach Memoirs) in the production that runs through Oct. 25. Susan Albert Loewenberg produces the LATW run.

George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart penned the screwball comedy about "down-and-out vaudevillians who hatch a hare-brained scheme to 'make it big' in Tinsel Town. Their plan? To open a voice academy for the witless stars of silent movies. The only things standing in their way are ditzy starlets and power-hungry movie moguls."

Additional casting will be announced.

As with all LATW productions, Once in a Lifetime will be recorded and broadcast on LATW's nationally syndicated radio theatre series, "The Play's the Thing."

For tickets to any of "The Play's the Thing" productions at the Skirball Cultural Center, 2701 N. Sepulveda Boulevard, call the L.A. Theatre Works box office at (310) 827-0889.
