The Boys are hoping to have the CD available at concerts by late November; PS Classics will be releasing the album in stores in early winter. The disc will be produced by Michael McElroy.
Although the Broadway Boys roster contains 26 vocalists, they always perform in groups of five or six. Members of the group are currently performing in such shows as Wicked, Rent, Hair, Jersey Boys, Altar Boyz, Billy Elliott, Mary Poppins and Memphis. The group is known for bringing a fresh sound to classic and new theatre music.
Listeners can expect such Broadway Boys favorites as "Defying Gravity," "Lullaby of Broadway," "Old Devil Moon," "Aquarius," "Shadowland," "Mama, A Rainbow," and more. A tracks list and release date will be announced.
Among the Broadway Boys performing on the new disc are Jesse Nager (Mary Poppins), Danny Calvert (Altar Boyz), Telly Leung (Rent), Michael James Scott (Hair), Maurice Murphy (Spelling Bee), Daniel Torres (Wicked), Lucas Steel (Threepenny Opera), Gabe Violett (Spring Awakening), Marty Thomas (Xanadu) and Peter Matthew Smith (Hairspray).
