Broadway favorite Brent Barrett, a frequent presence in the Broadway revival of Kander and Ebb's Chicago, returns to that Tony-winning production at the Ambassador Theatre in Oct. 5.

Barrett once again steps into the role of slick lawyer Billy Flynn for an eight-week engagement through Nov. 29.

He joins a cast that includes Bonnie Langford as Roxie Hart, Deidre Goodwin as Velma Kelly, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart and Kecia Lewis-Evans as Matron "Mama" Morton.

In November Barrett will also release his third solo recording, a Christmas CD titled "Christmas Mornings" for Kritzerland Records. The recording, with arrangements by musical director Christopher Denny, features holiday standards and new tunes, including one ("A Star to Guide Me") penned by Barrett.

Brent Barrett, who recently completed a two-year stint in the title role of Phantom – the Las Vegas Spectacular, received an Olivier Award nomination for his role in the London company of Kiss Me, Kate, and his other theatrical credits include the Broadway productions of Annie Get Your Gun, Chicago, Grand Hotel, Dance a Little Closer, West Side Story and Candide. Barrett received a Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for his work in the L.A. production of Chicago and has been seen Off-Broadway in Closer Than Ever, March of the Falsettos, The Death of Von Richtofen, The Time of the Cuckoo and Portrait of Jenny. His television and film appearances include "Hercules," "Longtime Companion," "All My Children," "Another World" and "Guiding Light."

Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse.

Chicago plays the Ambassador Theatre, located at 219 West 49th Street.

The long-running musical celebrated its 12th anniversary and its 5,000th performance on Broadway Nov. 14, 2008.
