McKellen to Host Only Make Believe Benefit

Sir Ian McKellen will host an evening at Broadway's Shubert Theatre to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Only Make Believe, the non-profit organization that creates and performs interactive theatre for children in hospitals and care facilities.



The Nov. 2 event will honor Chris Wearing, Bernadette P. Longford and Playbill.com writer and actor-musician Seth Rudetsky.

Those scheduled to perform and/or make appearances include Alan Cumming, Jude Law, Nellie McKay, Chris Meloni, Euan Morton, Rudetsky, Rachael Weisz and the casts of Hair, Memphis and The Lion King, as well as performers from the Big Apple Circus.

Shubert Theatre is located at 225 West 44th Street. The gala evening is scheduled to begin at 7 PM.
