Tim Blake Nelson's Eye of God officially opens at The Kirk Theatre on Theatre Row Oct. 7 following previews that began Oct. 2.
Lisa Devine directs a cast that comprises Morgan Baker, Ehad Berisha, Benard Cummings, William Franke, Judson Jones, Helen Merino, Richard Mawe, Valerie Redd, Matt Savins, Doug Sheppard, and Shorey Walker.
"In Kingfisher, Oklahoma, an innocent young woman meets a strong man of faith," according to press notes. "A young boy witnesses a brutal murder. Where is the line between moral and radical? A love story between the lonely, the troubled, the forgotten and the radical believer who can save them."
The production features scenic design by Robin Vest, costume design by Benjamin Taylor Ridgway, lighting design by Jessica M. Burgess and sound design and music by Scott O'Brien.
Tim Blake Nelson is also the author of The Grey Zone, Anadarko and Cyrus. His acting credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Beard of Avon, Oedipus, Troilus and Cressida, Les Bourgeois Avant-Garde, An Imaginary Life, The Baltimore Waltz and Richard III.
Theatre East produces. Show times are Wednesday-Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 2 PM.
The Kirk Theatre (Theatre Row) is located in Manhattan at 410 West 42nd Street. For tickets, priced $18, call (212) 279-4200 or visit www.ticketcentral.com.
