Tony and Emmy Award winner Elaine Stritch, most recently seen in the Paper Mill Playhouse's production of the Broadway musical The Full Monty, heads to the South Orange Performing Arts Center Oct. 8.
Stritch will offer The Lighter Side of Tennessee Williams at 8 PM. The evening, according to SOPAC, features "Stritch in the role of Amanda in Tennessee Williams' The Pretty Trap, which Williams called 'A Comedy In One Act.' This gem of a play, sometimes referred to as a 'spinoff' of The Glass Menagerie with a happy ending, was premiered at Food For Thought."
Antony Marsellis directs the evening, which also features Tasha Lawrence in the role of Laura.
Elaine Stritch received Tony and Emmy Awards for Elaine Stritch at Liberty, which traces a stellar career that boasts roles in Company, The Little Foxes, Bus Stop, A Delicate Balance, Sail Away and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
The Lighter Side of Tennessee Williams is presented by Food for Thought Productions.
The South Orange Performing Arts Center is located at One SOPAC Way in South Orange, NJ. For ticket information visit www.sopacnow.org.
