Daniel Radcliffe, who recently appeared in the Broadway revival of Equus, may return to New York in a revival of Frank Loesser's 1961 musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
Variety reports that the "Harry Potter" star will take part in a December reading of the musical that has Tony-winning choreographer Rob Ashford (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Parade, Cry-Baby) attached to direct and choreograph.
Broadway Across America, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are producing with the aim of a possible Broadway revival. Des McAnuff, who staged the short-lived 2009 revival of Guys and Dolls, directed the only Broadway revival of How to Succeed…, which was seen in 1995 starring Tony winner Matthew Broderick and Megan Mullally. The show went on to welcome Sarah Jessica Parker and John Stamos.
How to Succeed… features a score by Loesser, with a book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert. The original 1961 production earned 7 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Author and Best Score, as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Robert Morse earned a Tony Award for his performance as J. Pierrepont Finch.
