Three-time Tony Award nominee Kelli O'Hara returns to the Tony Award-winning revival of South Pacific at the Vivian Beaumont Theater Oct. 13.
The actress departed the production March 7 in anticipation of her first child, Owen James, who was born on June 27 to O'Hara and her husband, Greg Naughton.
O'Hara received critical praise and her third Tony nomination for her performance as Ensign Nellie Forbush in the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic. Laura Osnes (Grease) performed the role in her absence.
South Pacific also stars Paulo Szot, who earned a Tony Award for his performance as Emile de Becque in the revival. Bartlett Sher helmed the production that began performances on Broadway March 1, 2008, and officially opened April 3, 2008.
Kelli O'Hara was also honored with Tony nominations for her work in the Tony-winning revival of The Pajama Game and the Tony-winning musical The Light in the Piazza. On Broadway she has appeared in Jekyll & Hyde, Follies, Sweet Smell of Success and Dracula, the Musical. Her album, "Wonder in the World," is currently available on the Ghostlight Records label.
South Pacific earned seven 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical, Best Director, Best Scenic Design, Best Costumes, Best Lighting, Best Sound and Best Actor.
